Sirloin Steak on Turkish bread

Sideways Deli Cafe in Dulwich Hill, run by sisters Jacqueline and Danielle, makes a fantastic steak sandwich fit for the harshest food critic.

Simon Thomsen, co-editor of SMH Good Food Guide 2010, says it's his favourite.

"It's the beetroot jam and the sweet kick of the aoili that makes it really stand out. I'm a sucker for anything with beetroot on it."
